Solutions for Seniors
Who are we?
Solutions for Seniors is a program that helps seniors and community volunteers link up. Many of our seniors want to remain in the comfort of their own homes. A friendly face and a helping hand once or twice a week can make staying at home possible.

Many of our seniors do not have immediate family living in Powell River. When they return home from a stay in hospital, visits from a caring volunteer can lift spirits and speed recovery. Let's make Powell River a caring community for seniors.

Solutions for Seniors is funded and supported by Vancouver Coastal Health Smart Fund, Powell River Senior Citizens Branch49, Powell River Community Health and Volunteer Powell River.

How can we help you?

Solutions for Seniors is designed to buddy-up a volunteer with a senior who needs help with:

• transportation from hospital to home
• light housework
• shopping*
• laundry
• pet care
• light yard work
• odd jobs
• computer help
• reading aloud

(*gas stipend available)

How to get in touch with us:

Seniors: Call or email to let us know what kind of service you need, when you need it and how often. we will match you up with a volunteer who can give you a hand around the house.

Please note - our volunteers are not screened. We source our volunteers from Volunteer Powell River, churches and other local service organizations. If you require a volunteer with a criminal record check, please let us know.
